Anatomy of having fun

This time I'm writing in english - just because I felt like it. I have had a quite fun last few days and that got me thinking what's that about, having fun? I was at work, minding my own business and suddenly stopped to listen; people were joking with each other, laughing and smiling. Right there in the middle of my workday, my rutines. That really got to me and made me feel all warm and fussy.

I believe in having fun. I'm grateful to understand that it's not self-evident. Having fun can mean serious business to some, it may be something scary or something that's bubbling right there under the skin but you won't let it come out for whatever the reason - and I'm sure there's a million different ones. When I thought about what having fun includes it's more than meets the eye. It's not just simply throwing frisbee or kicking football with your friend. And yet it still is.

Having fun to me means doing things you enjoy. It means leaving the coach, opening the door and giving the day a chance. It means challenging yourself, trying new things and making the most out of your life -or even just out of your day. It means a way of life where it's allowed to laugh at yourself, to learn new dancesteps (even if just behind the curtains:)) , to sing in public eventhough you know you really shouldn't. Having fun means relaxing, reading a good book or having the guts to do absolutely nothing. It means loving life, loving other people, loving yourself and letting other people love you back. It means accepting good things into your space. I think having fun is much about freedom. Freedom to be yourself. It's about hearing and accepting that you are important, you are loved and that you've got not only the right but almost the obligation to be whatever you were meant to be because you are a unique and a beautiful humanbeing.

Having fun means giving the life a chance eventhough it just throw you with lemons . It means crawling out from under the rock to feel the sun greeting your skin. It means all the little things; the colours of the trees, a friend's smile among a group of strangers, buying acrylic colours and painting some flowers.

It's about bravery and stepping out of your comfort zone. By that I don't (necessarily)mean jumping out of a plane or travelling to Africa. For example I love writing and I love english but I'm afraid to do mistakes. So this is me stepping out of my comfort zone writing in english. I must say I feel a bit nervous but I'm having lots of fun. This is my way of enjoying my life today. What's yours?

These are just some words about having fun. Fun is an action. So, as the Nike-people would say:

Just do it. Have fun!

    Terkut Saimaan rannoilta!

  2. Oi kiitos Minna! :)
Ja oo, aika ekstriimi tapa pitää hauskaa! I like it! :D Tänään kadulle oli pyörtynyt lenkkeilijä, jolle sitten soiteltiin ambulanssia, että ehkä ihan viisaskin ratkasu tuo :)
